Suffolk Wave

I really liked this website. I am always listening to books on tape as well as reading actual books. It is a pain to have to wait for a good audio book to come in, but I think that with this website, the wait is essentially over. I like the idea of being able to download the book into your computer and then being able to put it on a mp3 player (which i may have to invest in now) or putting it on a cd and all you need is your library card, this is great.

I think that this website is really enjoyable. Now I just need my kids to help me get the books onto cd's and such.

I think that I could actually use this site since I am notorious for losing my camera and my memory card. At least with this website I won't lose all my memories.

You Tube

I never used youtube before. My kids use it just to show me the latest funny video. The library could possibly use this site to help keep people informed with what is going on at the library and also if they want to see people to book, I would check out their act before actually booking them.

Library Thing

I think that I could actually use Library Thing. There are so many books that I would like to read or have read that it would be a useful way of keeping up with things.

I searched around for some books and I found it really easy to use. The only questions I have is if partons have issues on their cards, are they still able to check out these kinds of books?

I thought that delicious wasn't a bad site. I think that it might be a good place to share and get recipes or something along those lines.

Myspace and Facebook

On Facebook, the library has 128 fans and on Myspace, the library has 13 friends.

How did they differ? I thought that myspace is a little easier to work while facebook is like the nicer version of myspace. But I have a very strong opinion of not putting myself on the internet, I think that sometimes it is unsafe to put all your information out there so that any person can see it. I will not be making a myspace or a facebook for myself.

Did one appeal to you more? No.

Why do you think social networking appeals to such a broad group of people and how do you think the Library can tap into that potential? Social networking appeals to such a broad range of people because impersonal and its something you can do when you are wasting time. I think that a lot of the teens that use these sites are trying to keep in touch with friends and such, which I guess I can see the enjoyment, but I still feel its a bit dangerous. I think that the library can possibly tap into this potential by keeping up with the times.
